So that is why so many homes end up in the newspapers. . Managers need to have experience with the elderly, know all of the legislation, can run a budget, preferably have a little nursing experience etc and are able to employ staff and know all the UK employment laws.

Hope I never end up in your home. That is worrying.

You need to study a nursing degree and then have years of nursing home experience and then do various other courses on management and finance etc and then register with the Care Commission unless you have the money to buy a nursing home and have qualified staff and someone to do your finances then you can have your own office to do what you want?

The VQ level 4 is the management level qualification So with your experience and the VQ4, I'd say that should be plenty
